Every summer I look forward to starting my Saturday’s in the boathouse with Jenn. When the pandemic hit, I like many others, found my anxiety skyrocketing and had difficulty finding happiness in my day to day life because of the sudden change. When Jenn announced she would be doing her yoga sessions online, it felt like such a blessing. What’s great about her classes being online is that if I can’t make a live session, all the videos are recorded for access at any time convenient for me. I’m so grateful to her for bringing her practice online so that every Saturday I once again have something to look forward to!

This past year has not been easy on anyone. Yoga has always been my source of peace but I was finding it hard to get on my mat regularly when my routine went out the door with lockdown. Without my yoga community and a room full of breath I wasn’t feeling connected or motivated to push myself in my practise. Enter Jenn! I have practiced with Jenn for years at the Boathouse and joined her virtual classes in January after months of just going through the motions with my at home yoga. For those that know her, the online classes are the same energy and vibe you would expect from any of Jenn‘s classes (and if you close your eyes you might think you’re back in the Boathouse). The music, the movement, the messages and seeing Jenn’s smiling face at the beginning of class for a hello have kept me engaged and accountable to my new routine. I love having the option for a shorter class before work to break up my week and the flexibility to retake the recordings at any time. While I wait patiently for the day we can be back together again in person, I am so grateful for Jenn keeping us connected to each other and our practice.

Up until 18 months ago I had never had the desire to practise yoga in any other environment than a beautiful peaceful yoga studio. But when studios were forced to close, online yoga made me create a home space and a live stream practice and I must say that I have found real connection is possible through these online sessions. It also makes practicing far more accessible and convenient ....it’s such a time saver not having to leave home and drive to the studio! “I haven't actually yet had the pleasure to meet Jenn in person, but I've fallen in love with her online classes over the past year. During a time when there has been so much information and thoughts taking up space in my brain, not to mention a constant bombardment of messages and pressure to still be productive and do and achieve all of the things during the pandemic, Jenn has offered a chance to step out of my head and connect with my breath and my body through movement. She has saved me from burnout so many times. Jenn's positive energy radiates through the screen and I've found the recordings to be just as effective as the live classes, which is super beneficial on Wednesdays when 8AM is just not happening. She's taught me so much not only about yoga, but also about myself over the past few months. Having done one form of yoga or another for half my life now, Jenn's words and meditations have finally led me to understand that yoga isn't about what it looks like, but how it makes you feel. With her guidance I've broken the cycle of feeling like I have to "perform" during class, pushing my limbs into poses that just don't work me and then feeling frustrated and "less than" when they don't look like they're "supposed to" (which honestly is perhaps easier from the comfort of my own home, when I am alone with my body and there isn't anyone else in my immediate vicinity to compare myself to) and I've moved instead into focusing on being fully present for that one-hour timeframe and growing a deeper appreciation about simply being able to move, being able to breathe, being able to feel connection while being alone. For the first time in my life I feel like I've truly come home to my body, moving with comfort and ease both on and off the mat, and I'm so thankful to her for that.”

“I have participated in Jenn’s on line yoga with great appreciation during Covid. I have always wanted to practice yoga, but have been a cardio junkie my whole life. I am so grateful that I found yoga during Covid.
